The fourth annual Miami Improv Festival (MIF 2006), hosted by Miami's Home for Improv and Sketch Comedy, Just The Funny, was held at the Miami Museum of Science in scenic Miami, Florida.  MIF 2006 was held from Wednesday, January 11 through Sunday, January 15, 2006.  MIF 2006 featured 26 improv and sketch comedy groups from across North America, with performances held over 5 nights.  The following is the complete list of participating groups:

In addition to the 50 performances at MIF 2006, 13 different workshops were offered by the improv industry's leading instructors.  MIF 2006 Workshops offered: Beginning Improv, Improv for Kids, Improv for Teens, VAPAPO Character Workshop, Get to the Heart of the Scene, He Plays She Plays, The Theater of Improv, Positive Choices, Two's Company, Solo Improv, and master classes from Mark Sutton, The Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade.  

MIF 2006 also featured the improv festival premiere of the improv mouckumentary film Yes And, to much fanfare and and recognition from improvisers, the public, and local media.

MIF 2006 also featured a number of Business Seminars, Social Events, and Parties, which were well attended, productive and fun.  The MIF Team thanks all who attended, performed, instructed and volunteered at MIF 2006.  The following sections present highlights, feedback, press, and photos from The 2006 Miami Improv Festival.  Enjoy!

All you had to do if you needed anything or had a question at the Miami Improv Festival was flag down someone from Just The Funny, anyone from Just The Funny, and they'd make everything better.

In all seriousness, I have never felt like such a rock star. Everyone was accommodating and professional and the crowds and classes were phenomenal! I wonder if these people EVER slept! Thank you David and EVERYONE at MIF who not only took the time to make everyone performing feel like kings and queens, but also just let their hair down and hung out and had fun.

...we were treated like rock stars. There wasn't a soul there I couldn't rely on to make sure things were working out for me. I was staying an hour away from the festival and they still made me feel a part of the action and I was pleased to see them reach out to other performers/students, as well.
